“For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger, and you invited me in, I needed clothes, and you clothed me, I was sick, and you looked after me, I was in prison, and you came to visit me.’ “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
- Matthew 25:35-40
Our Dream & Vision
As Christians, we believe that after death, we will enter heaven, a place with no fear, no trials, no temptations or tribulations. A place free of famine and sickness, filled instead with worship, peace, and everlasting joy.
But what a beautiful thing it is when we get to experience a glimpse of heaven right here on Earth. That’s why our mission is to extend a helping hand to those in need — to remind them that they are not alone and that someone truly cares.
Our goal is to be a light in our local community and in our homeland, Haiti, working together to make both places better, more compassionate, and more hope-filled places to live.
Lending a Helping Hand
That is why our mission is to lend a helping hand to whoever is in need. We want to let them know that someone is here, and someone cares about them. Our mission is to help make our community here and our home country, Haiti, a better place to live. With one another, learn God’s word, and grow in their personal relationship with God.
What We Do
We initiated our first efforts to support the community by feeding the homeless in the DC region in 2016, which was a great experience for all who participated.
They were able to learn that it is important to be grateful for what they have, and to always be ready to help and share with those that are in need.
Our outreach began in 2016, when we took our first step to support the community by feeding the homeless in the Washington, D.C. area. It was a powerful and humbling experience for everyone involved, reminding us of the importance of gratitude and the calling to share with those in need.
On December 23, 2018, we raised funds for children in Haiti. It was a joyful and meaningful event, and we are committed to making it an annual tradition. While our efforts may feel like just a drop in the ocean, we believe that consistent acts of love and service can help rebuild our beloved Haiti over time.
In 2019, we partnered with Celestial Manna to continue providing food for those in need in our local community. Our heart is not only for Haiti, but also for our neighbors here in Maryland — and we remain dedicated to serving both.
